Writing and editing is a collaborative effort. It takes many people to help create a book, from the writers themselves, to critique groups, to beta readers to editors, and finally to agents and publishers.

I have had the good fortune to be on both the writing end and the editing end, so I have real empathy for the process and the learning challenges. So much goes into writing a novel or a nonfiction book. It takes literally years to learn the craft. And once writers become published, they must then learn to market their books, which often requires a crash course in marketing. It can all seem a little overwhelming.

What I do as an editor is give an intensive, personalized course in writing. I often go through each chapter several times looking at the larger picture, structure, etc. Then I check through your revisions and get a bit more detailed, make sure all your revisions worked well toward the overall goal of writing a great story. I charge one price for both revisions. And finally, I give a final read-through at a much reduced price.
